March 15, 2020
This evening we received notice that, “Governor Mark Gordon and State Superintendent Jillian Balow recommend that all schools remain closed to students through at least April 3.” You can read the full text of the press release here. In accordance with that recommendation, The Board and Administration of Washakie County School District No.1 has determined that the district will not conduct any classes effective tomorrow, Monday, 16 March 2020, until at least 3 April 2020. All classes, activities, athletics, clubs and any other events in district facilities or on district property are cancelled until further notice. All district staff will report to work tomorrow and engage in planning and preparation on how, “to operate in a way that mitigates community spread of COVID-19……” while helping our students to continue to learn at high levels. Details of that plan will be released as soon as they are available. We appreciate your cooperation as we navigate through these uncharted waters!
